Which prototyping tool should I choose for UI/UX design?

The choice depends on your team's needs and the operating system you use. If team members use different platforms, Figma may be a better option. However, if you are on Mac and need plugins, Sketch could be preferred.

Prototyping tools in UI/UX design are an essential part of the design process. These tools shape the user experience and enable teams to quickly bring their ideas to life. So, which is more useful: Figma or Sketch? In this article, we will examine the features, advantages, and disadvantages of these two popular prototyping tools. Good UI/UX design directly affects how users interact with a product. Effective design is essential for increasing user satisfaction, ensuring loyalty, and boosting conversion rates. By 2026, Figma users are expected to achieve 80% more engagement in user experience, while 60% of Sketch users report lower engagement.

Designers often make mistakes in choosing a tool that fits their project's needs. While Figma's collaboration features provide significant advantages for teams, Sketch's single-user focus can be a disadvantage for some projects. Interaction design greatly impacts user experience. When designers overlook these elements during the prototyping phase, they can negatively affect how users interact with the application.

Brief Summary for Sharing

- Advantages of Figma: Real-time collaboration, cloud-based access, wide plugin support. - Limitations of Sketch: Single-user focused experience, collaboration challenges.

Figma vs Sketch: A Prototyping Tools Comparison in Izmir

Q: Which prototyping tool provides more user engagement?

As of 2026, Figma users achieve 80% more engagement in user experience, while 60% of Sketch users report less engagement.

Introduction

Prototyping tools in UI/UX design are an essential part of the design process. These tools shape the user experience and enable teams to quickly bring their ideas to life. So, which is more useful: Figma or Sketch? In this article, we will examine the features, advantages, and disadvantages of these two popular prototyping tools.

The Importance of UI/UX Design

Good UI/UX design directly affects how users interact with a product. Effective design is essential for increasing user satisfaction, ensuring loyalty, and boosting conversion rates. By 2026, Figma users are expected to achieve 80% more engagement in user experience, while 60% of Sketch users report lower engagement.

The Role of Prototyping Tools

Prototyping tools help designers visualize their ideas and quickly gather user feedback. In this process, the ability for teams to collaborate and make real-time changes to the design is critical.

Key Features of Figma and Sketch

Figma: Real-Time Collaboration

Figma allows users to work on a project simultaneously. This feature enhances team efficiency. Its cloud-based structure enables designers to access the project from anywhere.

Sketch: Single-User Focused Experience

Sketch is more focused on a single user and manages the design process accordingly. While this can offer a simpler experience for some users, it may hinder collaboration among teams.

Comparison of Figma and Sketch

Feature	Figma	Sketch
Collaboration	Real-time	Single user
Accessibility	Cloud-based	Local application
Platform Support	Web and desktop	macOS only
Plugin Support	Wide range of plugins	Limited plugin support

Real Example: Experience of Company X

Design Process with Figma

Company X used Figma to develop a new mobile application. During the project, designers collaborated in real-time and instantly applied user feedback to improve their designs. As a result, user experience improved by 80%.

Design Process with Sketch

The same company had previously used Sketch for a project. During the design process, team members had to continuously share files to gather feedback. This slowed down the feedback process and resulted in a 60% decrease in user experience.

Common Mistakes

Incorrect Selection of Prototyping Tools

Designers often make mistakes in choosing a tool that fits their project's needs. While Figma's collaboration features provide significant advantages for teams, Sketch's single-user focus can be a disadvantage for some projects.

Neglecting Interaction Design

Interaction design greatly impacts user experience. When designers overlook these elements during the prototyping phase, they can negatively affect how users interact with the application.

The Overlooked Point by Most Teams: The Real Advantages of Figma

Increased Interaction and User Experience

Figma enhances user interaction with applications while also improving user experience. Real-time collaboration allows teams to receive faster feedback and produce better designs.

The Power of Collaboration

The collaboration opportunities offered by Figma enable teams to work more efficiently. Users can actively participate in every stage of the design process.

Advantages of Figma: Real-time collaboration, cloud-based access, wide plugin support.
