Prototyping tools play a critical role in the product development process. During the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) stage, selecting the right tools is crucial for gathering user feedback quickly and effectively. In this article, we will compare two popular prototyping tools, InVision and Figma, to examine which tool is more effective in the MVP development process.

The Importance of Prototyping Tools

Prototyping is the process of visualizing a product's design and functionality. This process provides an important opportunity for users to interact with the product and gather real-world feedback. Tools enable designers and developers to collaborate more quickly and effectively.

What is an MVP?

An MVP is the simplest version of a product that contains its core features. Developers can enter the market quickly with an MVP and continue to improve the product based on user feedback. The tools used in the MVP development process facilitate the collection and analysis of this feedback.

InVision and Figma: Key Features

Advantages of InVision

InVision is a comprehensive prototyping tool for designers. Its advanced sharing and commenting features allow team members to provide instant feedback on designs. Additionally, InVision offers integrated tools that accelerate the design process.

Flexibility Offered by Figma

Figma allows users to collaborate in a web-based environment. Designers can work on the project simultaneously and see changes in real-time. By 2026, Figma's market share is expected to rise to 60%. This is a significant indicator of the increased flexibility and collaboration capabilities for users.

Real Example: Experience of Company X

MVP Development Process of Company X

Company X, an e-commerce company, decided to develop an MVP before launching its products. In the initial phase, they used InVision to create design prototypes and gathered feedback from team members. However, they struggled to collect user feedback.

User Feedback and Results

As a result, Company X transitioned to Figma. Thanks to Figma's real-time collaboration features, users were able to provide instant feedback on designs. This transition enabled rapid collection of user feedback, allowing the company to launch the final version of the MVP more quickly.

Which Tool is More Effective?

Prototyping with InVision

InVision is an effective tool for collecting user feedback. However, the lack of real-time collaboration can make it challenging for teams to work synchronously on the project.

Prototyping with Figma

Figma allows users to contribute to the project simultaneously. This facilitates more effective collaboration within the team and accelerates the feedback collection process.

Tool Comparison

Feature	InVision	Figma
Real-Time Collaboration	No	Yes
Sharing Features	Advanced	Moderate
User Feedback Collection	Slow	Fast

Common Mistakes and What to Avoid

Incorrect Tool Selection

Choosing the wrong prototyping tools can negatively impact the process of effectively collecting user feedback. Making decisions without accurately assessing your project's needs can lead to wasted time.

Ignoring User Feedback

Feedback is central to the product development process. Ignoring user feedback can result in the final product not meeting user needs.

A Point Often Missed by Most Teams

Continuity of Prototyping

The prototyping process should continue not only in the initial phase but throughout all stages of the product lifecycle. It is important for teams to continuously improve based on feedback.

Establishing Effective Collaborations

Effective collaborations enable teams to work faster and more efficiently. Making the best use of the collaboration features offered by tools enhances project success.
